These Scripps Ranch homeowners met with several San Diego area solar companies before choosing to work with San Diego County Solar in 2019. They wanted to be able to keep their two-story home cooler in the summertime, and they wanted to be able to charge their new Tesla Model 3 at home without breaking the bank. Their goal was to get a quality solar system installed that was sized to accommodate their future needs. They chose to replace their roof’s 30 year old underlayment in conjunction with the solar installation so that they would not have to worry about it down the road. “I dealt primarily with Seth from the company. He came out and gave my wife and I a very thorough presentation on how solar would work for us. He was passionate about his work and never pushed us to make a sale.” This solar system was given Permission to Operate in late Spring, and the homeowners were thrilled right away that their solar was producing more electricity than they were using.

Installed in 2013, this 11.31 kW system features LG 290 Watt solar panels and Enphase M250 microinverters. To integrate the panels with the Spanish tile roof, we worked with a roofer to remove the tiles and lay down a composition roof. We then reinstalled tiles around the system, allowing the panels to lay almost flush with the surrounding tiles.

This Santa Luz installation is one of our largest residential solar power systems to date. The homeowner selected San Diego County Solar over the competition because they wanted an experienced contractor who would pay attention to the details. Aesthetics and quality were of utmost importance to the homeowner, and also to the design committee of this exclusive gated community. Working with an experienced local roofer, sections of the clay tile were removed, replaced with 50-year composite shingles, and then re-installed around the completed solar array. The system has no moving parts, and both the solar panels and the inverters carry a 25 year warranty. We’re very proud of our work on this job, and the customer loves the savings!
